1. Expert-information day for social enterprises

On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, the 1st Expert-information Day for social enterprises and everyone interested in social entrepreneurship took place at the seat of Local Development Foundation for Pomurje region, in Smart House in Martjanci.

First, the cross-border project SENS NETWORK was presented to the participants, with focus on the cross-border analysis of social entrepreneurship and the mentor network for social enterprises.

The project presentation was followed by the group discussion with representatives of social enterprises, moderated by Mojca Makovec Haložan on the topics of Challenges of Social Enterprises. Participants discussed the factors that hinder and obstruct their organisations, the supportive environment for the successful development of a social enterprise, and the concrete measures, that should be passed in order to improve the field of social entrepreneurship.

After a short break, there were two presentations of good practices of social enterprises. Founders of two social enterprises, Integra, društvo za promocijo socialnega podjetništva, so.p. and ZRIRAP, Zavod za raziskovanje in razvijanje alternativnih praks, so.p., presented their activities and challenges in their daily work.

Matej Verbajs, head of legal service at CNVOS (Center for information, cooperation and development of NGOs), outlined the legal aspects of social enterprises’ operations; the Expert-information day was concluded with a group legal consulting for all participants of the event.
